Dr. Leah Lagos Clinical and Sport Psychology - CC 41

Dr. Leah Lagos is an expert in discussing how winning the mental side of golf and sports is necessary to win the physical side.  With the FEDEX playoffs well underway, The President’s Cup around the corner, the end of season tournaments on the schedule, and the NFL starting this week, Dr. Lagos can give some great insight into the mental and emotional state of sports, and life, and how to handle the pressure and perform better, whether it’s the President’s Cup, your local $3 Nassau or the office.  She can also comment on the use of bio-feedback heart rate variability as a way to increase performance.  As Greg Norman said last week that if he could do it all over again he would have used a sports psychologist.

Dr. Lagos, Psy.D, B.C.B, specializes in sport psychology and  biofeedback, both critical areas necessary for athletes, and non-athletes, to obtain optimal performance in sport or life.  Biofeedback and heart rate variability training is an evidence-based treatment during which you are trained to improve your mental and physical health by using signals from your own body. Dr. Leah Lagos, who is Board Certified in Biofeedback, implements state of the art biofeedback training that allows you to see subtle changes in your physiological activity and change them. The techniques are non-invasive and allow you to improve control over how you react to internal and external stressors.  Dr. Lagos has worked with or is currently working with PGA Tour Players, NFL and NBA players as well as several D1 universities.  Dr. Lagos has also conducted risk assessments for draft prospects of the Chicago Bears and The New York Giants at the NFL Combine since 2007, as part of Professional Sport Consultants, Inc. She has worked with multiple types of collegiate teams across the United States including track, rowing, basketball, football, and golf. Dr. Lagos also had a client that represented the United States in the London Games.  Dr. Lagos is a licensed psychologist, board certified and the author of several published articles.
